Fully encapsulated interpreting booths.
Our fully encapsulated interpreting booths provide the acoustic separation necessary between conference interpreters and the listening audience. They reduce outside noise for clear and concise interpretation.
What is the difference between Translation and Interpreting? The main difference between interpretation and translation is that an interpreter orally transmits spoken language, while translation centres exclusively on written texts (although a translator can also work with audio or video files or even images, but the final result will always be in writing). An excellent written translator may make a poor interpreter because the skills are very different. Professional interpreters work in teams of two (or occasionally, three). This is because the process of simultaneous interpreting is so concentration-intensive, they have to take frequent breaks. Most team members work about ten minutes on, ten minutes off.
It doesn't matter how entertaining your keynote speaker is, or how accurate your scientific presentations are, if you don't have a great team of simultaneous interpreters, your overseas guests won't understand a word. Our simultaneous interpreters are carefully selected to have the specialized knowledge needed for each event. We seek out interpreters who are not only familiar with your audience's dialect, but also who understand the subject being interpreted. Conference interpreting requires a lot more than just being bilingual. Our simultaneous interpreters are professional - they interpret regularly at conferences. The skills involved are different from interpreting in a courtroom or doctor's office because of the rapid-fire pace.

Consecutive interpretation involves a linguist to wait for a pause in speech or conversation and then interpret the dialogue into the requested language. Our highly trained interpreters can interpret with excellent interpersonal skills to easily facilitate interactions and conversations.
Used for conferences or public hearings/meetings. These meetings are also environments where two or more languages are requested for interpretation at the same time requiring the use of interpreting equipment. Interpreters utilize a microphone that wirelessly transmits over headsets that the audience is using to listen to the meeting in real-time in their preferred language. All interpreting equipment is available through Lighthouse Communications.
We offer both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting on-site at your meeting. These services also bring with them special interpreting equipment such as assistive listening devices, two-transmitters isolation booths, and a technician to run all equipment. All are available for upon request.
